Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between dry clean, shampoo and steam clean extraction?

Steam clean extraction does not leave a residue of chemicals in the carpet that allows the carpet to get dirty faster; more importantly, steam clean extraction is safer and healthier for humans and animals.

How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

It depends on the need; for a family with children and animals, we recommend to have your carpets cleaned twice a year – spring and fall. For heavier areas of wear-and-tear, at least once a year.

How often should I vacuum my carpets?

We recommend that carpets should be vacuumed at least once a week to remove built-up dust.

What types of carpet and fiber will be good and durable for my active home (kids, pets)?

Polyester is a very soft synthetic fiber and is available in wonderful colors, however this polyethylene terephthalate (PET) will crush or mat down in a hurry. That means in areas where there is heavy traffic, like hallways, polyester carpeting may not be a good choice and will never come back to its original appearance. You will be very unhappy with your polyester carpet within 6 months, when there are kids and pets.
In such cases, Nylon may be a better choice for you. Nylon carpeting is more expensive than polyester but it will tolerate an incredible amount of abuse. It cleans easily and won’t mat down like polyester. You will be much happier in the long run with the 100% continuos filament of Nylon carpeting.
DuPont’s Sorona is another option if you want a carpet that is easy-to-clean and stain resistance. It is also known as Smartstrand Silk Carpet by Mohawk.
